The festival Dussehra (Dasa hara) or Vijayadashami symbolises the victory of good over evil. Ravan is the personification of evil. The 10 heads of Ravan represent 10 vices in us - lust, desire, anger, greed, attachment, ego, jealousy, hatred, deceit, stubbornness, laziness. Ravan could be killed only by hitting at his navel. This illustrates that we can win over vices upon finishing 'body-consciousness'.
